Due to Monday's horrible raining weather Mattara has rescheduled 'Pets in the Park'
Thankyou to all who braved the rain with us on Monday's Pets on the Park to support us!
If it isn't raining this Friday we will again be setting up the HAR stall on the foreshore at Newcastle

Trev is all scrubbed up and ready to go- are you?
Help support HAR by purchasing goodies from our stall on the day and meet some of our many carers and foster dogs. Bring along your own pets and enjoy the day encountering the reptile show or petting farm, enter your own pet in the fashion competition and browse the many other pet stalls and activities and have a great family day out in the Newcastle sun. | |

SUZIE - F, Foxy x, 6mths
Suzie is a great little girl who has fitted in well with my two dogs. She enjoys a game and will play with her blanket. Suzie has
lots of energy is a very good watch dog without being too yappy. She is protective of her home and carer. Suzie is not fond of small children and would suit some one
who is active and enjoys walks. She is very cleaver and learns quickly and is easily trained. Just a great little girl who needs someone to love.

PETEY - Jack Russell x, M, 3yrs
Petey came into care with a badly broken hind leg, which, according to the vets had happened some 3 -4 months prior, and the poor little fellow must have been in extreme pain for a long time. The vets offered 3 options - euthanasia, amputation or surgery, which rarely ever is successful. The preferred option was amputation, as this would relieve his pain, and as he had no use of the leg anyway, he was quite used to functioning on 3 legs. He is now almost fully recovered from his operation and is back running & playing with his foster friend. He still gets a little tired after a hectic playing session but is getting stronger each day and will be back to full strength in another week. He gets on very well with my little dog, but he is a very laid back friendly little fellow. Petey does not like my other foster dog even though Wilson tried very hard to make friends with him.
Petey would be best suited as an only dog with someone who would make him the centre of their world. He is very affectionate and loves to be sitting on his person's lap getting lots of cuddles and pats. Considering the rough time he has been through he really deserves to be loved and spoiled for a change. If you think you are that special person that would like to look after this little sweetie for the rest of his life just come and meet him and you will see what a great little mate he would be.

"Monty" Maltese Male 8 months - (more pics soon)
This little guy is just perfect in everyway. He is affectionate and friendly and just wants to please you. He loves everyone and everydog. He must go to an extremely loving home where someone is home most of the time or they have another friendly dog to keep him company, he has never been on his own and it would be stressful for him. He is an indoor dog and is paper trained. You will need a secure yard so he can go out and play on nice sunny days. He likes raw chicken necks as a snack and this keeps his teeth nice and clean. He sleeps on a cushion beside the bed and likes lots of cuddles. He has been clipped but if his coat is left to grow long he will need brushing everyday so he doesn't get matted. He doesn't like canned food but will eat anything else. (that is good for him) A yard inspection is complusory for any new owners.
If you would like to apply to be Monty's adoptive parents please email Alisha for an appointment ph: 0410644267 or email: alisha_products@hotmail.com (Monty is located in Charlestown)

DAVEY - Chihuhua x, M, 6 yrs
Davey is a lovely little guy who is very well behaved around people and other dogs. He is generally quite - only barks when he's wanting to go outside ( or come back inside) - He loves to play ball. Davey is de-sexed and has a micro-chip and his vaccinations are up to date. He doesn't care too much about going for walks on a lead, he is a very low maintenance pet and would make a wonderful companion for a senior person.
As a senior dog Davey is available for $125
If you would like to meet Davey please phone Angela
(02) 49364728 or (02) 49392226 (business hours)
Thank you to Sue of Kotara South for your generous donations towards Davey's care.

"Sallee" Maltese x Shih Tzu
Female 7 yrs
This little lady has been clipped due to severe matting. She also has had to have several teeth removed but this has not dulled her appetite as she eats very well and is not a fussy eater. She has a lovely personality and is an excellent companion. She will have to go to a home where her new owner is home most of the time or has a another dog to keep her company. She is house-trained and as she is quite small she is definitely an inside dog but you would still need secure fencing so she can go outside for a wander now and then.
If you think you could give Sallee a loving, forever home or would like to meet her please contact Margaret on 49207953.
(Sallee is located in Charlestown) As a senior Sallee is available for $125.

WILSON - M, Jack Russell X - 2 y.o.
Wilson is just a great little man - his favourite things are eating, getting pats & cuddles and playing flat out with his doggy mates, followed by a snooze. No trouble at all around the house, sleeps inside and only barks if there is something serious to bark about. Is very friendly and intelligent and likes to learn new things however does NOT like birds or chooks. Always comes when called & is very obedient. Would love to find a forever home with an active family who would give him plenty of love and attention. Would fit into just about any family as though he'd been there forever.
To meet Wilson phone Pam on 0414 311809 or email pam.tomlin@bigpond.com.

ANGEL - Bischon Frise, F, 3 yrs
Angel has been clipped as her coat was badly matted. She loves attention and would like to be an only dog.
She is a very lively, inside and outside girl, who loves the noise of the doggy-door! Angel has learnt to put herself to bed around 9 p.m. It takes her a bit of time to get used to other girl dogs, but, loves the boys! Angel came to me with no manners at all, but, is learning, gradually, who is boss. Angel is best suited as an only dog and does not like birds or cats (ok with male dogs) Angel loves her walks and is learning not to pull on the harness.
A happy go lucky, full of beans girl!

IZZY - Pug x Mini Foxy, F, 12 mths
Izzy is a gorgeous dog who loves to be with you at all times. she sleeps in her carers bed and follows her around the house, even into the shower. She is a big sook and would be well suited to a home as an only dog. Izzy does get along with other dogs but doesnt like it when she is not the centre of attention. She just wants to be loved. If you can give izzy a home where she would get spoilt rotten call...
Izzy is a gorgeous foxy x 'pug' who is the biggest sook in the world. She is a house dog and must go to a home where she will be inside. She sleeps in her carers bed and is totally house trained. She can be jealous of other dogs but is usually happy to be with small dogs like her. She would prefer to be an only dog. She isnt overly tolerant with smaller children but would never hurt them. She would suit someone who works from home so she could keep them company or an older home where she can be a great companion. She is good with cats and loves to play tag.
