Name: Lucky
Age: Approx. 2 years
Breed: Cattle x
Hi everyone! My name's Lucky and for some reason I have been in care since last September and I really don't know why... My foster mum has updated my profile several times, even gotten a professional photographer to take pictures of me, made 2 video's of me, did some training with me but yet I still have not had anyone come and visit me and see if they fall in love with me! Why?? :-(
So here we go again... My foster mum has done another doggy update for me.
Let's break it down for you...
- I happily sleep outside
- I love coming inside for playtime on my mat
- I LOVE my toys but I don't chew them to pieces!
- I love going on little trips in the car
- I love going for a daily walk on the lead
- I know how to sit, stay on the mat, stay for my toy, not to jump up and I'm working on not using my paw to say hello!
- I love to play "rough" and tumble with other dogs but I am very respectful of my mum's 12 year old Maltese dog and even though I desperately want to play with her, I respect the fact that she is a moody old Grandma and I just let her tell me off!
On my original profile I had "great with small and submissive dogs" but I have since proven that I am quite okay with large dogs as well as long as they are doggy friendly. I even had a trip to the last HAR doggy event and did amazingly well! I found several dogs that I wanted to just play, play, play with! There were others I could tell didn't want to play so I just had a gooood sniff and kept walking and there was only one or two undesexed male dogs who gave me a growl so I growled back - that's only fair!! LOL
I sure hope this breaks it down for everyone and someone out there feels that I would be the perfect fit for their family.

Animal Number: 09267
Name: Hailey
Breed: Rottweiler x
Age: 10 months old
Size: Large dog
Suitable for children: Yes! Hailey is fantastic with kids.
Ideal home: Hailey is a girl with some special needs. So we are looking for a special family willing to put in the long term commitment to Hailey. Like many large dogs her size she grew too fast and her bones and muscles did now grow at the same time. Due to this she has an elbow that has detached cartilage and arthritis. Despite this Hailey could still live a long and happy life, some dogs with Hailey’s condition don’t show any signs of really slowing until around 6 years, but every dog is different.
Hailey will let us know what she can and can’t do. What her new owners will have to watch for is:
How she acts in cold weather – she could be a little slow at starting but will come good, so don’t push her till her leg warms up and keep her a little warmer than most other dogs at night.
Don’t over exercise – after a new or extensive exercise watch to Hailey the next day, if she is stiff and seems sore, then slowly reduce the length of her exercise until she is comfortable with it or change the type of exercise.
Change exercise – again if Hailey has shown stiffness after a particular exercise, change or limit it – i.e. rather than a long run Hailey may be better off with a swim as swimming will take the weight off her leg.
Diet – control Hailey’s diet so she doesn’t become overweight and add more pressure to her elbow.
Medication:
1. Hailey needs to be on arthritis prevention powders or mixes, such as Sasha’s Blend; there are many good ones on the market.
2. Cartrophen injections. This injection aids in the slowing of arthritis, and should be given in a course of injections (1 injection per week for 4 weeks), then leave for months until Hailey shows signs again. Do not do monthly injections. Keep up the daily treatments like Sasha’s Blend.
So what Hailey needs is a family willing to put in that little bit more attention to Hailey’s care.
A bit about me: Hailey is a beautiful dog who gets along extremely well with kids and other dogs, she travels well in the car and loves to get out and about. She has a fantastic temperament and would be an asset to any family.
Foster carer contact details: If you think you are the correct family who can take over Hailey’s care or if you have any further questions about Hailey please contact Kim on 0429 305 300 or send her an email

TEXAS - 8 months old Kelpie x -
Male
Lively boy in typical Kelpie style. Full of life, loves to fetch a
stick, swim at the beach, dam, lake or river - he is not fussy as long
as it water! Good with older kids, has not been tested with younger
kids, but does not jump up very much so could be okay with a smaller
tot. He loves cuddles, licks and snuggles. Gets on well with other
dogs. Has had some training and responds well.

Animal Number: 10126
Name: Eva
Breed: Bully x
Age: 20 months old
Size: Medium sized dog
Suitable for children: Yes, Eva is very gentle and does not jump up so would be less likely to knock small children over.
Ideal home: A home where Eva is allowed to be part of the family and given the attention she needs would be perfect. Eva is a very easy going dog but does not like to be left for long periods at a time day after day. Eva gets along well with other dogs and could easily go to a home with another dog.
A bit about me: Eva is a wonderful young lady who at first is very timid but once she gets to know you she is quite happy to just be with you. She is a very gentle girl who has already learnt basic commands. Eva loves to swim and is always keen to play so going to the beach will be no problem for Eva.

Animal Number: 10097
Name: Chief
Breed: Bull Arab x
Age: 3 years old
Sex: Male (desexed)
Size: Large - 70cm high at the shoulder
Suitable for children: Yes, Chief is great with kids but due to his size he can knock them over easily.
A bit about me: I came into care after being rescued from the street. I was very thin and in need of some TLC and vet care. Even though I was rescued from the streets, my carer says I am really good natured and just a big sook who loves to be part of a family. I love to ride in the car and even at the vet's I am a good boy and do not have a problem with new people as I just like everyone. I would do well with an active family who would take me for walks as I am a boy who loves to be out and about. Even though Chief is a large boy he is a pleasure to take for a walk. Chief gets along great with other dogs of all sizes and considering his start to life he is quite well behaved.
Ideal home: Chief is a large dog so a family with large dog experience would be handy. Chief will need a daily walk and ideally another dog to play with as he is soooo friendly.
Foster carer contact details: If you are interested in Chief, please contact Katherine on 0404584028. Please leave a message as carer is a shift worker.
